About Help with Care

Help with Care started at home, not in an office.

Over many years, we watched family, friends and neighbours struggle, without help, to plan and manage care for someone they knew.

Who we are

While Help with Care is a young company, formed in May 2026, our core team and supporters have arrived at this point following their own journey and full careers. We are normal people with a lot of life experience gained through caring for our parents, children, loved ones, friends and neighbours. Some of us are still actively caring while holding down our day jobs, and others have given up their work and careers to make it possible for someone else to live a more decent and functional life.

Daughters in different towns, coordinating health and social care for a father in his late nineties and a mother in her eighties with dementia, in their final years. A surgeon who stepped back from their own work to care for their parents, moving them between hospital wards and home visits with no one holding the whole picture together. Months and years where health and social care were managed across a variety of agencies that did not talk to each other, by people who had no training for it and did it anyway. Parents who look after a disabled child through to adulthood, and children missing out on their own lives to look after parents. A neighbour who has a fall, and the unplanned effort of people nearby to organise the steps of care journeys that had never had anyone in charge of them, catching mistakes before they happened rather than after.

These are not rare stories. They happen all the time, in every street, usually without anyone stepping back to ask why care that should join up so rarely does.

The idea that became Help with Care was nurtured over ten years, shaped by experiences like these rather than invented apart from them. We believe the right place to deliver this kind of support is not a call centre or a distant system, but among people who know each other. Help with Care is our attempt to bring something of the village, the street and the neighbourhood, back to the roads we live in now, using coordination and technology to do at scale what neighbours and family have always tried to do for one another.

We all have the same thing in common: a desire to use the benefit of our experience to help others navigate the difficulties of caring and have more guilt-free time for themselves.

The idea for Help with Care has formed over several years, and we are now ready to start our journey with others who would like to join in and help with good ideas or time.

The problem we are solving

Good care is too often let down by poor coordination.

Help with Care exists because good care is too often let down by poor coordination. A resident recovering from a hospital stay, a family supporting someone with a long-term or chronic condition, a young person living with a disability, an older person wanting to stay active and independent at home: each depends on information and people connecting across organisations that do not routinely talk to one another. Help with Care was founded to close that gap, through better organisational capability across the people and services already working to help them.

We bring residents, carers, hospitals, GPs, councils, volunteers and independent providers together around a single coordinated care journey, however long that journey lasts. For some, it is a few months of recovery. For others, it is a lifetime of ongoing support. And for many, the most valuable help is simply staying well in the first place, through better activity, company and support before a crisis takes hold.

Our story

Built on three decades of clinical coordination experience.

Help with Care was founded by a team with a shared background in clinical coordination and care pathway design. Our technology partner, Ardeo Limited, has enabled care teams to work together across 88 NHS hospital sites for close to three decades, and that experience has shaped our thinking. We are building new, independent capability of our own, designed specifically for coordination beyond the hospital, into the neighbourhood and into the home, for as long as it is needed.

How we work

Our approach starts with the person, not the technology.

Some of the people we support are recovering from a hospital admission. Many more are living with a long-term or chronic condition, managing a disability, or growing older and wanting to remain active and independent in their own home. Their needs are ongoing, not episodic, and often continue for months or years, sometimes for life.

Hospital to home
Hospital-based teams working together on discharge and treatment planning, ensuring the transition home is coordinated from the start.
Local and independent providers
A network of care providers, domiciliary care in the home, and volunteers providing regular social contact and practical help.
Resident and carer support
Support for residents and carers navigating their own care journey, however long it runs, through our helpdesk and coordination team.
A strong local network
Government and commissioners, established health and social care providers, and independent and voluntary suppliers all working to the same standard of care, recognising one another, and trusting one another's work.

We are building relationships with NHS trusts, local councils, voluntary organisations and independent providers who share this aim.

We believe a resident is best protected not by any single organisation acting alone, but by a strong local network acting together. Building that network, and the practical means for local suppliers of every size to take part in it properly, is part of our long-term vision for Help with Care.
